SPAII Program Intern – Lebanon

1. Background
ActionAid Arab Region (AAAR) is implementing the Strategic Partnership Agreement II (SPAII) program in Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, focusing on humanitarian response, resilience, climate justice, women’s rights, youth engagement, and locally led development approaches.
To strengthen program implementation, coordination, documentation, and administrative support, AAAR seeks to recruit a SPAII Program Intern based in Lebanon to support the SPAII Program Manager and the wider SPAII team in the implementation and monitoring of program activities.
2. Position Information
Position Title: SPAII Program Intern Duty Station: Lebanon-Remote Department: Humanitarian and Resilience Unit Reporting to: SPAII Program Manager Contract Type: Internship Duration: Initially three (3) months with the possibility of extension for an additional extension until 31 December 2026 based on performance and program needs.
3. Purpose of the Assignment
The SPAII Program Intern will provide administrative, programmatic, coordination, documentation, and field support to the SPAII Program team. The internship aims to provide practical experience in program management, humanitarian and development programming, partnership management, monitoring and reporting, and donor-funded program implementation.
4. Key Responsibilities
Program Support
- Support the SPAII Program Manager in the coordination and implementation of program activities.
- Assist in tracking work plans, deliverables, and implementation timelines.
- Support follow-up with implementing partners in Lebanon (and other countries if needed)
- Conduct regular and structured follow-ups with Lebanon-based partners to ensure timely implementation of activities and reporting.
- Assist in organizing program meetings, workshops, trainings, and events.
- Support the consolidation of activity reports and program documentation.
- Assist in collecting and organizing monitoring data and supporting evidence.
- Maintain program files, records, and documentation systems.
- Support the preparation of donor reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Assist in documenting lessons learned, success stories, and program achievements.
- Take meeting minutes and follow up on agreed action points.
- Support communication with partners, consultants, and external stakeholders.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for meetings, workshops, and field visits.
- Support internal coordination within the SPAII team.
- Participate in frequent field visits on a weekly basis to support monitoring of activities, partner coordination, and data collection.
- Support field-level documentation, verification of activities, and follow-up with community-level stakeholders where required.
- Organize program documents and maintain electronic filing systems.
- Support data entry, database management, and information tracking.
- Assist in developing presentations, communication materials, and summaries.
- Provide administrative support related to program implementation.
- Support procurement and logistical processes when required.
- Assist in travel arrangements, scheduling, and coordination activities.
- Timely organization and filing of program documents.
- Quality meeting minutes and action trackers.

- Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as: - Public Health, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Political Science, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or other related disciplines.
- Previous volunteering, internship, or work experience with NGOs is an asset.
- Experience in humanitarian or development work is desirable.
- Familiarity with donor-funded programs is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.

8. Working Arrangements
The intern will be based in Lebanon and will work remotely, while working closely with the SPAII Program Manager and the SPAII team. The position requires frequent weekly field visits within Lebanon, in addition to remote coordination, office-based coordination when required, and partner follow-ups. Occasional travel within Lebanon may be required depending on program needs.
9. Duration and Extension
The internship will commence until 15 October 2026. Subject to satisfactory performance and program requirements, the internship may be extended for an additional period until 31 December 2026.
10. Safeguarding and Compliance
The selected intern will be expected to adhere to ActionAid’s policies and procedures, including safeguarding, protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), code of conduct, gender equality, and health and safety standards. The intern is expected to uphold AAAR’s values and ethical standards at all times.
