الوصف الوظيفي

The Danish Refugee Council assists refugees and internally displaced persons across the globe: we provide emergency aid, fight for their rights, and strengthen their opportunity for a brighter future. We work in conflict-affected areas, along the displacement routes, and in the countries where refugees settle. In cooperation with local communities, we strive for responsible and sustainable solutions. We work toward successful integration and – whenever possible – for the fulfilment of the wish to return home.

The Danish Refugee Council was founded in Denmark in 1956, and has since grown to become an international humanitarian organization with more than 7,000 staff and 8,000 volunteers. Our vision is a dignified life for all displaced.

All of our efforts are based on our value compass: humanity, respect, independence and neutrality, participation.

DRC hosts the Middle East Durable Solutions Platform (ME DSP), a membership-based NGO platform established by DRC, NRC and IRC and later joined by Oxfam, ACF and Save the Children to strengthen evidence, programming and advocacy on solutions to displacement in and from Syria. In 2022 its scope was widened to Iraq and Yemen. Following a period of hibernation since 2023, ME DSP has secured core donor funding and is in the process of re-establishing its membership, reviewing its governance and operating model, and diversify its partnerships. ME DSP is one of three DRC-hosted solutions platforms, alongside ReDSS (East Africa and Great Lakes) and ADSP (Asia), and sits within the DRC Middle East, Asia and Europe Hub under the leadership of the Hub’s Executive Director.

The Head of ME DSP provides overall leadership, strategic direction and management of the Platform, a membership-based, consensus-driven platform of NGOs working on solutions to displacement across the Middle East.
