POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the English Language & Institutional Development Programs Manager and working with the other team members of youth and workforce development programs, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the implementation of language training, professional capacity building, youth empowerment and skills related training projects. The Youth Development Programs Senior Officer also supports ongoing administrative operations of the Training & Partnerships team as related to testing, enrolments, grading, assigning students into respective classes and reporting. The Youth Development Programs Senior Officer supports project implementation, on grant or donor funded programs for youth and workforce development, by coordinating with teachers for their schedules, scope of work, compliance, communicating with clients/donors to send updates, and by conducting field visits to program sites to support line management and the EL Manager in assessing program quality, monitoring and evaluation, and providing logistical and procurement support.

The Youth Development Programs Senior Officer is also responsible for the (public courses) of young learners’ summer and winter camos and will oversee the management, coordination, QA, marketing, enrollments and closing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Duties:

Program Implementation (60%)

Youth and workforce development grants

  • Coordinate with Program instructors and trainers on required reporting, attendance, materials, and milestone documents
  • Perform administrative tasks such as certificate printing, service and material procurements and data collection for programs she/he is in charge of
  • Lead on preparing statistical and narrative reports about all program or training activities and results or programs she/he is in charge of, for the review of the SM (And regional staff as appropriate)
  • Assist in developing budgets and proposals as requested by the SM
  • Participate in budget re-alignment exercises integrating developments of projects, as needed
  • Assist in the development and expansion of relevant language and skills development programs, based on departmental and organizational plans focusing on public courses
  • Prepare contract requests in coordination r for all trainers on programs under her/his responsibility
  • Coordinate with other departmental staff, finance and HR on trainer assignments, contracts, payments, and schedules
  • Conduct background checks on prospective trainers
  • Procure transportation for Amideast trainers to off-site programs via Amideast standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Conduct periodic quality assurance (QA) visits to program sites, recommending actions to line management, if any
  • Schedule placement tests for students/participants and record, and document results with teachers, archives and for students
  • Maintain accurate and up to date filing and records in compliance with program requirements
  • For courses, where Amideast incurs material development expenses to trainers, approve and review all developed materials with the SM and/or relevant staff, and archives them into the SharePoint and updates the library of materials/courses that re developed at Amideast
  • QA, MEAL, and Reporting (20%)

  • Analyze the post-training assessments and surveys and provide summaries to the Program Manager and Senior Manager for reporting
  • Participate in documenting progress of programs, classes, and student learning outcomes for the purposes of end-of-year organization reporting and for donor reporting
  • Propose new improvements to the delivery of classes, communication channels and developing new customer bases tailored for youth and workforce development programs
  • Contribute to the programs’ progress reporting, monitoring, and final reports in compliance with donors’ requirements
  • Developing Amideast’s Offerings and Business (30%)

  • Follow up on calls and inquiries and respond to customer requests or deliver requests to the relevant department or position for the fee-for-service young learners' summer and winter camp programs
  • Ensure direct outreach emails to school administrators, teachers and parents are shared and respond to enquiries and collect interest forms
  • Update the database of school staff and parents for future communications and marketing efforts for the T&P department
  • Achieve 20 enrollments or more for each young learner program
  • Propose and lead on data collection to allow Amideast to launch new thematic young learner programs integrating past and existing capabilities including, but not limited to: STEM, journalism and media, entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Launch and monitor the performance of teachers for ‘young leaners programs in the summer and winter vacations, collect data and administer surveys and follow-up engagement activities with enrolled students
  • Take insights and lessons learned from program implementation, challenges, and successful customer attraction channels
  • Produce a recommendation report to management to enhance:
  • 1\. Addressing the changing needs of youth programs deduced from implementation successes and challenges 2\. Media, communication, and outreach channels 3\. New partnerships explored for young learner programs

  • Use insights to summarize recommendations for improvements
  • Support business development efforts of the SM through market mapping to summarize youth grants and funding opportunities suitable for Amideast
  • Support in concept note drafting for youth grants
  • Others (General)

  • Communicate and coordinate frequently, accurately, and responsibly with Amideast’s office in Amman and program staff
  • Exhibit behavior and communications that reflect Amideast’s goals of strengthening partnerships and understanding
  • Follow Amideast’s standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate closely with other departments along with external relations to promote Amideast products and services
  • Perform any other Amideast work-related duties requested by the Program Manager and/or Country Director, including supporting in the task load of other departments as required
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    Required

    • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

    • Proficiency in Arabic and English

    • Computer literacy in MS Office

    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

    • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

    • Must possess problem-solving skills

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis).

The position requires the availability to travel both within and outside Jordan and work flexible hours.
