INARA areas of intervention include comprehensive medical services, mental health and psychosocial support, education in emergencies, economic empowerment, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) initiatives, and rapid emergency response. INARA emphasizes long-term care, ensuring that children receive continuous treatment and rehabilitation.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Dermatology Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality dermatological services to patients attending the PHC center, including diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and referral of skin-related disorders. The specialist will work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure evidence-based, patient-centered care in accordance with Ministry of Health, WHO, and INARA’s guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct dermatological consultations and comprehensive patient assessments, including analyze the results from diagnostic skin tests
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic skin diseases, including infectious, inflammatory, allergic, and autoimmune conditions.
- Inform on different treatment options and solutions
- Advice on skin health tips and best practices, particularly for poor-sheltering related diseases.
- Refer patients to more advanced health care through identifying cases requiring advanced intervention and facilitate appropriate referrals.
- Provide counseling on disease prevention, skin care, treatment adherence, and hygiene practices.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding chronic dermatological conditions.
- Promote preventive health measures and early detection of skin diseases.
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols.
- Complete accurate patient records (using KoboTool or other system in place), prescriptions, and referral forms.
- Contribute to daily service reports, including number of consultations and key medical trends.
- Support monitoring of disease patterns and emerging health concerns.
- Ensure patient confidentiality, informed consent, and respectful communication.
- Adhere strictly to INARA’s safeguarding policies, medical ethics, and code of conduct.
- Report any safeguarding or protection concerns immediately through established channels.
- The Dermatology Specialist must adhere to all organizational safeguarding, child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), and professional ethics policies. The post holder is expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism at all times.
- Medical degree (GP).
- Specialization in dermatology (Board certification, recognized specialty training is an addition).
- Valid medical license to practice dermatology.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical dermatology experience post-specialization.
- Experience in outpatient dermatology services.
- Experience in humanitarian, low-resource, or emergency settings is an advantage.
