Job Description
What we are looking for
NRC is looking for a leader passionate about innovation in the humanitarian sector, expert in building partnerships with local actors and driving systems change to guide the Human Mobility Hub (HMH). The HMH is a pioneering initiative launched in 2023 to better protect and assist people on the move in North Africa. After three years of co-designing and co-implementing solutions with local organisations, host communities, and people on the move themselves, the pilot is entering a crucial moment. By 2026, NRC will evaluate lessons learned and set a long-term vision for the HMH’s future — and we need the right leader to guide this next chapter.
As Human Mobility Hub Director, you will hold overall responsibility for strategy, operations, and partnerships. You will lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and work closely with NRC MENA Regional Team to ensure the pilot is institutionalised by the end of 2026.
This is a role for a creative, strategic thinker who can turn ideas into action, nurture collaboration, and represent NRC as a principled humanitarian actor.
Key Responsibilities (What you will do)
- Drive long-term sustainability planning with partners, including exploring pathways for handover or continued growth.
- Ensure high-quality implementation of partner-led projects and initiatives in education, legal assistance, and emergency response.
- Promote innovation, learning, and documentation across all areas of work.
- Lead networking, representation, and advocacy efforts, convening diverse local and international stakeholders.
- Oversee an organisational review to identify replicable practices and models for NRC’s future engagement.
If you’re a strategic, innovative leader committed to localised, people-centred solutions — we’d love to hear from you.

- Extensive experience working with local actors.
- Experience in leading diverse teams of technical experts.
- Able to represent the organisation at a strategic level.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. French and Arabic are a plus.
- Experience working in challenging access contexts and remote management.
- Experience from protracted displacement settings.
- In-depth knowledge of the context of North Africa and the MENA region.
What we offer:
- Contract duration: Up to December 2026-renewable
- Duty Station: Amman, Jordan (Family duty station)
- Travel: Approximately 40% to areas of operation
- Salary/benefits: Grade 12 on NRC’s salary scale
