Job Description

As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks, and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.


You use your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions, and technical security issues.

Responsibilities

  • Help to ensure the long-term success of our clients by providing talented, passionate, and specialized security expertise.
  • Help our clients assess, design, and build advanced threat detection and response capabilities, including Incident Response Planning, Logging, Escalation, and Communication matrix, Use Cases, Playbooks, Staffing and Capability models, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) analytics, and more.
  • Define and lead strategic capability uplift programs for our clients, including influencing the prioritization and implementation of these programs.
  • Define and build holistic cybersecurity training and exercise programs.
  • Apply gained experience to enhance our program methodology across the full breadth of the Mandiant Strategic Consulting organization.


Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience assessing and developing cyber security solutions and programs across multiple security domains for government or enterprise.
  • Experience delivering cyber outcomes, identifying mission risks, and devising solutions to combat public sector-focused threats.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with advising clients on security programs covering incident response, mission support, cyber threat intelligence, security operations, data protection, and security architecture.
  • Experience with engagement enablement, including scoping engagements, structuring customized engagements to meet client requirements, proposal writing, and drafting statements of work.
  • Experience with government, or services provider to government, in the cyber and information security domains.
  • Experience with security event analysis, incident response, computer forensics, and malware analysis.
  • Understanding of the components that comprise a successful information security program, security policies and procedures, and cyber security standards such as ISO27000, NIST CSF, PCI, and HIPAA.
