Senior Manager Operations Control Center

Based in Abu Dhabi

Purpose of the position:

The candidate will be responsible for the management and control of the day-to-day flying program, delivering the flight schedule while maximizing roster efficiency and stability in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Place in the organization:

The Sr Manager Operational Control Center reports to the Head of Operations.

Responsibilities:

The Sr Manager Operations Control Center is responsible for:

• The proactive and reactive contingency planning during times of disruption to the flight schedule.
• Defining Ops recovery protocols and following the implementation within OCC.
• Establish corrective action plans where non-conformities are identified.
• Manages a team of Duty Managers, Navigation Officers, Crew Controllers, and Crew Logistics Coordinators who are responsible for ensuring the flight schedule operations.
• Maintain effective communication between the OCC, Crew Control, and all other company departments and ensure excellent communications links are established and maintained with all Crew, both Flight Deck and Cabin Crew.
• Achieve KPIs and Targets set out under Wizz Air's annual objectives scheme.
• Review schedule performance and delay statistics to identify and recommend adjustments.
• Ensure that all staff members are trained by coordinating the OCC initial and recurrent training process and effectively deploying the various rules and regulations that govern flight safety and effective completion of the flight schedule (crew rules, rest requirements, aircraft limitations, and airport/airspace restrictions).
• Monitor OCC staff to ensure goals, standards, and targets are set and achieved. Encourage personal development, training and manage the cross-functional process.
• Maintain and monitor the day-to-day integrity of all Operational systems.
• Actively participates in crisis management situations.
• Provide management reports and trend reviews in areas such as sickness, leave, hotel & logistical requirements and costs.

Requirements:

• Please note we can only accept applications for this position from UAE Nationals
• Minimum 4 years experience in aviation operations, including maintenance topics and flight dispatch, with 2 years minimum of OCC experience.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of both Operations Control, Crew Dispatch and FTL’s
• Understanding and knowledge of Flight planning
• Understanding and knowledge of Aircraft performance
• Confident in spoken and written English
• University Degree

Advantage:

• Knowledge of AIMS
• Valid GCAA Flight Dispatcher Licence or foreign convertible license
